Welcome to DIYHomebuilders.com! Our vision for this site is to make it the definitive online source for all things related to designing and building your own home. I hope to share with you my experiences, both good and bad, to provide an insight into the world of DIY homebuilding. This site will cover all aspects of building your own home from the design phase, the bidding phase, the construction phase, on through to the wrap up and finance phase.

Now I will tell you a little about me. I am a student by day and amateur homebuilder in my off time. I just recently completed the construction of my first house, a 3,000 sq ft ranch style home built in the country. It took me over three years to build this house and I learned a tremendous amount about the house construction industry that I hope to share with you on this website.

Obviously, I am not an expert on the entire home building process so this website will be written from the stand point of a regular person just like you. The advantage of this is that I know the questions and insecurities that come along with each phase of this process.
